EARLY WORKS
1997
During my art studies in the USA I recognized great potential of American industry in a unique and specific esthetic way.
American cultural heritage was created alongside the development of modern industrial civilization.
I found my inspiration in this conjunction, intending to display esthetic and my own visual language through which I want to present materials, design, function and form of the distinctive American way of production.
I was fascinated with the found parts that so designed and manufactured already looked as art. Out of respect for their perfection, I decided not to do any interventions but to leave them in their original form and express myself in an assemblage technique.
That’s how my first works came into being, composed from parts of the earliest industrial systems. Later I used computer hard drives from the 1970s, and today I compose my sculptures with complex parts from Boeing aircraft, so I can certainly say that my sculptures are made “out of America.”
